TMCC Production 250 Rules ELIGIBILITY AND MACHINE COMPLIANCE FOR THIS CLASS SHALL BE DETERMINED BY USE OF THE CURRENT MOTORCYCLING AUSTRALIA MANUAL OF MOTORCYCLE SPORT , CLASS/MACHINE SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA CONTAINED WITHIN THE RULES DETAILED BELOW , AND RELEVANT SUPP-REGS . THE TMCC ROAD RACE COMMITTEE WILL CONSIDER ANY & ALL APPLICATIONS FOR ALTERATIONS TO THE RULES IN THE SPIRIT OF TMCC PRODUCTION 250 RACING. ANY PROCESS THAT INVOLVES DETERMINATION OF MACHINE ELIGIBILITY SHALL INCORPORATE CONSULTATION WITH TMCC CLUB MEMBERS ACTIVELY COMPETING IN THAT CLASS . ISSUES NOT ADEQUATELY ADDRESSED BY THESE METHODS SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE TMCC ROAD RACING COMMITTEE . 250cc 4 STROKE QLD CHAMPIONSHIP CLASS RULES. 1. ELIGIBLE MACHINES SHALL BE 250cc FOUR STROKE / 123 cc - 150 CC TWO STROKE PRODUCTION BASED MACHINES ONLY. 2. ALL MACHINES MUST BE ABLE TO HAVE BEEN LEGALLY REGISTERED FOR ROAD USE IN AUSTRALIA. IN THE CASE OF NON-COMPLIANCED “GREY IMPORTS”, A MACHINE OF THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL MUST HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BE LEGALLY REGISTERED FOR ROAD USE IN AUSTRALIA. 3. SUPERLITES, MOTOLITES, COMPETITION ONLY AND MOTARD MACHINES ARE INELIGIBLE FOR THIS SERIES. 4. ALL BIKES MUST COMPLY WITH THE CURRENT MANUAL OF MOTORCYCLE SPORT . 5 . ENGINE CAPACITY SHALL BE 250cc (4 STROKE ) and 123 cc - 150 cc ( 2 Stroke ) WITH A TOLERANCE OF +/- 2% . 6. Items to be standard for the model a. Triple clamps b. Frame (main structure) c. Swing arm d. Camshafts – lift, duration and grind e. Carburetor bodies f. Crank cases g. Alternator & starting systems must be present and standard. h. Exhaust and inlet ports, porting and polishing are not allowed. 7. Tyres must comply with the following a. Be commercially available in Australia b. Be not less than the manufacture’s recommended speed & load rating c. Be worn no more than to the minimum tread depth indicators d. Slick tyres may be used, however tyre warmers are not permitted. 8. Wheels a. Front & rear wheels must be standard for that make & model. LIGHT WEIGHT RACE WHEELS ARE NOT ALLOWED. 9. Brakes a. Calipers must be standard for that make & model and mounted in the original position. 10. Fuel a. Must be unleaded. b. Be no more than 98 RON. c. Contain no additives other than those at point of manufacture. d. Be readily available from retail outlets in Australia. 11. The following MUST be removed a. Head Light. b. Tail light. c. Reflectors. d. Horn. e. Traffic indicators. f. Mirrors. g. Centre & side stands. h. Registration plate/bracket. i. Passenger hand holds & footpegs. Passenger footpeg mounts may be retained if used as mounts for crash protection or exhausts. 12. The following must comply a. Three number plates must be fitted with correct, size font and colour as per Manual of Motorcycle Sport. b. Liquid cooling by water only – NO ADDITIVES. c. A self-closing throttle must be fitted. d. Engine and crankcase breathers must be fed into an oil catch tank or sealed air box with a volume of no less than 300ml. e. Lower fairing must be constructed to trap and hold engine oil/coolant with a capacity of 3 litres and with no less than two holes of 25mm which may be opened only in the event of a wet race. f. A chain toe guard. g. All hoses must be secured and guarded against contact with ground, tyres, exhaust or other moving parts of motorcycle. h. Plugs and caps which permit the discharge of any fluids if removed, must be lockwired or otherwise secured. i. All axles to be lock wired or have split pins or “R” clips fitted. j. Front brake caliper retaining bolts to be lock wired. k. An effective engine kill switch must be fitted. 13. The following may be replaced, modified or fitted. a. Coils may be changed. b. Steering damper. c. Any road race fairing is permitted, within the confines of the Manual of Motorcycle Sport, provided it is securely fitted to the satisfaction of the scrutineer. d. Handle bars and they may be moved from above to below the top triple clamp e. Electronic instruments. NO data logging devices including lap-timers are permitted. f. Footpegs and rearsets may be replaced with aftermarket items. Footpegs must be of folding or shear-off type. g. Frame protection devices, but these must not be more than 80 mm in diameter, or protrude more than 80 mm from the machine bodywork. h. Fuel metering jets &needles may be replaced but not slides. Replacements must be within a numerical tolerance of plus or minus 10% of original. i. Spark plug leads & caps. j. External gearing. k. Brake friction materials. l. Brake lines with ADR approved replacements. m. Radiator fan may be replaced or removed. n. Airbox including lid to remain standard and may not be modified. Filter & snorkel may be removed or replaced. o. Front suspension springs, damping parts and fork caps may be modified or replaced but the external appearance of the forks must remain the same. p. Rear shock absorbers may be re-gassed, re-valved, re-sprung and a remote reservoir fitted, provision for ride height adjustment may be made, however the rear shock is to remain from the same MAKE and MODEL. q. After market brake rotors are allowed but must be same diameter and at least the same thickness as standard rotor for that make & model. r. Header pipes and muffler may be replaced – all machines must comply with 2008 Manual of Motorcycle Sport noise limitations. s. Suspension linkages may be modified but not replaced. t. Subframes may be modified.14. The implementation and enforcement of the TMCC PRODUCTION 250 rules is governed by the TMCC ROAD RACING Committee . Penalties for non-compliance will be determined by the committee .
