         RACE DAY PROCEDURE

 Following is a brief outline of how a  typical race meeting runs .......the main thing is to relax and have a lot of fun , this goes for mums and dads as well .......
 
1. Get to the track EARLY! Nominations and Machinery Inspection / Scrutineering starts around 7.30 am at Lang park for  Motocross Club Days and 8.30 am for  Dirt Track Club Days. Remember , if BIKE NOT SCRUTINEERED , BIKE DOESN'T PARTICIPATE !
 
2. For a major Series/Championship event , nomination and scrutineering usually commence at 6.30 am .
 
3. All information regarding start times etc will be in the TMCC Newsletter , notices in bike shops . Major events will also be listed on www.mqld.org.au ( Go to Supplementary Regulations section ).
 
4. Please Note : No dogs are allowed at any race circuit - guide dogs excepted .
 
5. For Club Days , all nomination forms will be at the canteen . These are to be completed and presented to the Race Secretary and their assistants with proof of your TMCC Club Membership and your competition licence .
 
6.Please have cash or a cheque for your relevant fees - no EFTPOS facilities are available .
 
7. As of 1st July 2006 , Junior competitors MUST BRING THEIR JUNIOR COACHING PROGRAM (JCP) LOG BOOK to EVERY RACE MEETING – CLUB DAY or SERIES/CHAMPIONSHIP. NO LOG BOOK= NO RACING - NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
 
8. The Race Secretary and their assistants will be available to help with any queries with regard to appropriate classes are available for you to participate in .
 
9. For a major Series/Championship event , all details will be available at www.mqld.org.au
 
10. IF IN DOUBT ASK ANY OF THE MEETING OFFICIALS OR CLUB MEMBERS , OR ANYONE WHO LOOKS AS THOUGH THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
 
11. Now line up with all the other competitors to have your machine and protective equipment and clothing inspected ( Machinery / Scrutineering ) . This is a fundamental requirement that must be completed before you are eligible to  participate in the meeting .(See Guide List Below)
 
12. Motocross scrutineering is performed between the canteen and the pits shed . Dirt Track scrutineering is performed under the small skillion next to the black water tank .
13. Next, you will be advised over loudspeaker or by Officials to attend the RIDERS BRIEFING, which is usually delivered usually the Scorers tower (MX), or Starting Gates (DT).  Safety Matters and Details will be outlined and it is COMPULSORY to attend. 
HINT - ATTEND THE RIDER'S BRIEFING OUTFITTED IN APPROPRIATE RACING ATTIRE IN CASE YOUR CLASS IS FIRST UP FOR PRACTICE , WHICH WILL COMMENCE IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE RIDER'S BRIEFING .
 
14. The RACE PROGRAM will be written up on a board , usually near the starting gates . Make a note of when YOUR practice ( and of course your competition events ) are scheduled to start

Machinery / Scrutineering Requirements
1. Handlebars must have plugged ends.
2. Brakes - front AND rear must be operational.
3. All bearings must be in good order.
4. Footpegs must spring back/ self return .
5. Check for and rectify any fluid leaks .
6. All OEM protective covers must be present and securely fixed to the machine .
7. Any lights / indicators must be removed or taped.
8. Stands must be removed.
9. Ensure your helmet is in good condition - internal padding must be complete and undamaged , buckles/straps must be in good condition , the outer shell must be free of cracks and gouges that go deeper than the colour coat of the helmet shell . A Standards Australia sticker or MA approved equivalent sticker must be affixed to the helmet .
