TMCC RR  250cc SUPERSPORT

TMCC RR 250cc SUPERSPORT CLASS  2010

ELIGIBILITY AND MACHINE COMPLIANCE FOR THIS CLASS SHALL BE DETERMINED BY USE OF THE CURRENT MOTORCYCLING AUSTRALIA  MANUAL OF MOTORCYCLE SPORT , CLASS/MACHINE SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA CONTAINED WITHIN THE RULES DETAILED BELOW , AND RELEVANT SUPP-REGS .
THE TMCC ROAD RACE COMMITTEE WILL CONSIDER ANY & ALL APPLICATIONS FOR ALTERATIONS TO THE RULES IN THE SPIRIT OF TMCC 250 cc SUPERSPORT RACING. ANY PROCESS THAT INVOLVES DETERMINATION OF MACHINE ELIGIBILITY SHALL INCORPORATE CONSULTATION WITH TMCC CLUB MEMBERS ACTIVELY COMPETING IN THAT CLASS .
ISSUES NOT ADEQUATELY ADDRESSED BY THESE METHODS SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE TMCC ROAD RACING COMMITTEE .
 

ELIGIBLE MACHINES SHALL BE:

250CC Four Stroke

123 – 150CC Two Stroke Production based machines only

Engine capacities shall be -:

250cc 4 cylinder with a +/- 2% tolerance.

250cc V-Twin - 295 cc max.

250cc Parallel Twin - 313 cc max.

250 Single cylinder - 320 cc max.

123 – 150cc 2 stroke with a + 3% tolerance.

ALL MACHINES MUST BE ABLE TO BE LEGALLY REGISTERED FOR ROAD USE IN AUSTRALIA. IN THE CASE OF NON-COMPLIANCED “GREY IMPORTS”, A MACHINE OF THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL MUST HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BE LEGALLY REGISTERED FOR ROAD USE IN AUSTRALIA.

SUPERLITES / MOTOLITE, COMPETITION ONLY AND MOTARD MACHINES ARE INELGIBLE FOR THIS CLASS.

ALL MACHINES MUST COMPLY WITH THE CURRENT MANUAL OF MOTORCYCLE SPORT.

1. Items to be standard for the model

a)      Triple clamps

b)      Frame (main structure)

c)       Swing arm

d)      Camshafts- Lift & duration & grind to remain Standard

e)      Carburetor bodies

f)       Crank cases

g)      Alternator & starting systems must be in working order

h)      Exhaust and inlet ports, porting & polishing are not allowed.

 

2. Tyres must comply with the following

a)      Be commercially available in Australia

b)      Be not less than the manufactures recommended speed & load rating

c)       Be worn no more than to the minimum tread depth indicators

d)      Slick tyres may be used for Club Championship events ONLY.

e)      Tyre warmers are allowed

Note: It is the intention of the TMCCRR Committee to phase out the use of slick tyres in this class during the 2010 season. Competitors are encouraged to change to treaded tyres once they have used their current stock of slicks.

3. Wheels

a)      Front & rear wheels must be standard for that make and model.

b)      LIGHT WEIGHT  RACE RIMS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

4. Brakes

a)      Calipers to be standard for that make & model and mounted in the standard position.

b)      After market rotors are allowed but must be same diameter and at least same thickness as standard rotor for that make & model

5. Fuel

Must be unleaded

a)      Must comply with current GCR’s.

b)      Contain no additives other than those at point of manufacture

c)       Be readily available from retail outlets in Australia.

 

6. The following  MUST  be removed.

a)      Head Light

b)      Tail light

c)       Reflectors

d)      Horn

e)      Traffic Indicator

f)       Mirrors

g)      Centre & side stands

h)      Registration plate/bracket

i)        Passenger hand holds & pegs

 

7. The following must comply / be fitted :

a)      Three number plates  with correct numbers as per Manual of Motorcycle sport

b)      Liquid cooling by water only. No additives.

c)       A self closing throttle.

d)      All machines must be equipped with a oil catch tank or sealed air box with a volume of no less than 300ml.

e)      Lower fairing must be constructed to trap and hold engine oil/coolant with a capacity of 3 litres and with no less than two holes of 25mm which may be opened in the event of a wet race

f)       A chain toe guard

g)      All hoses must be secured  and guarded against contact with ground , tyres, exhaust or other moving parts of motorcycle

h)      All sump plugs , radiator caps must be lock wired

i)        All axles to be lock wired or have split pins or “R” clips fitted

j)        Caliper retaining bolts to be lock wired

k)      An effective engine kill switch must be fitted.

 

8. The following may be fitted or Modified

a)      Ignition Coils

b)      Steering damper

c)       Any road race fairing is permitted with-in the confines of the MoM’s provided it is securely fitted to the satisfaction of the scrutineer.

d)      Handle bars may be replaced and they may be moved from above to below the triple clamps.

e)      Electronic instruments.

f)       No data logging devices are permitted.

g)      Foot pegs may be replaced with aftermarket items , but must be folding or shear type pegs.

h)      Mounts may be raised or modified

i)        Frame protection devices, but these must be no more than 80mm in diameter or protrude more than 80mm from the machine body work.

j)        Fuel metering jets and needle maybe replaced but NOT SLIDES.

k)      Spark plug leads & caps

l)        External gearing.

m)    Brake friction materials

n)      Brake lines with ADR approved replacements

o)      Radiator fan may be replaced or removed

p)      Air box may be modified or removed pods or velocity stacks fitted.

q)      Header pipe and muffler may be replaced- all machines must comply with the current MoM’s noise limitations.

r)       Rear suspension linkages may be modified but not replaced. Springs may be replaced but the external appearance is to remain the same.

s)       Sub Frames may be modified.

t)       Front suspension springs, damping rods and fork caps may be modified or replaced but the external appearance is to remain the same.

     u)      ANY REPLACED OR MODIFIED ITEM MUST BE SECURELY FITTED TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE SCRUTINEER.
